Our Library
Students – whether at Santipur Public School – look forward to spending fruitful hours in the spacious, airy and stimulating ambience of Libraries. Here, books of an amazingly wide variety are neatly arranged in shelves. Seating is most comfortable while helpful and knowledgeable Librarian is there to guide the pupils through thousands of titles.
Santipur Public School:
The School Library offers students a collection of nearly 2,500 titles, including magazines, newspapers, periodicals, subject and general reference titles besides help-books for competitive examinations which they can borrow. Classes I to VIII are free to take a book home for a week. Reference books, including encyclopaedias, encyclopaedic dictionaries and informative picture books are there to enrich the learning process of little students. They can also access comics and cartoon books at the Library itself. Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. There are also classroom libraries for all classes – books can be taken by pupils from there too.
Types of Books Available:
The types of books we do have access to in school libraries are fiction books, non-fiction books, reference books, literature books, biographies, General Knowledge books, Fables and folktales, cookbooks and craft books, poetry books, books in a series, and wordless books.

Our school has laboratories where students can perform researches, experiments or even learn new things with the help of internet facility.This helps students to remember the studies in a better way by conducting their own experiments. It gives students first-hand experience and offers better opportunities for learning. A laboratory is not a contest whose object is to get the “right answer”, but the purpose is to learn how to gain knowledge, how to observe and to learn the meaning of what happens.

Following safety rules!
Science experiments are vital for kids. They are useful in understanding the theories and concepts of science that cannot be studied alone only by science textbooks. But science labs are risky so some safety rules must be followed to avoid accidents and injuries.
Kids should not be allowed to touch any chemicals or lab equipments.
No experiments must be done in the absence of the teachers.
Students must read the label carefully before using any chemicals.
They must wear safety goggles, lab coat, and shoes in the lab.
